Earl Vallery hails from and was shaped by the restless food-loving culture of New Orleans, Louisiana. Having a BFA in Studio Art from LSU, he's done a turn in a number of roles, including photographer and artist, organic CSA farmer, pastry chef instructor, musician, legislative proofreader, cellarman in a brewery, and has hiked all 2189.2 miles of the Appalachian Trail.

He is the owner and pastry chef at Bowerbird Bakeshop, a culmination of his 15 years of pastry experience and know-how. Earl has been a Charlottesville native since 2017 and currently lives in the county with his incredible wife, Lee, and their fresh baby, Fernanda.
